Tuesday Tip/Tutorial- Embossing With Dies

Hi friends, with you today to share a crafty tip! Of course, there are so many amazing ideas out there in the crafty world and I'll admit that it was tough no narrow something down. Once I started looking at my dies, I remembered how you can emboss or impress a die into card stock without really cutting. Creating a subtle background like in my example card or endless other ideas!

I really wanted this to stand out a bit more so I added some acrylic paint over the embossed scallop. Rubbed the color on and removed the excess with a paper towel. The paint sank into the lines and by wiping it off, gave a white wash appearance to the paper. Inking the edges added a bit more detail and depth. The rest of the design came together by adding tiny paper blooms and some CDD confetti pieces.

So let me explain how I created this with the dies. Start with a rubber mat, these can be purchased at many craft stores. If you don't own any, then you can think about playing with fun foam. The layers go: rubber mat, paper, die (impression side down) and then cutting plate. Looking forward to trying more and sharing with you all in the future!
Thanks for letting me share this crafty tip today!

Thanks for visiting today and everyday with our daily posts! Warmly, Leah
