Today is Day 3 of the sneak peeks for the April release at Craftin Desert Divas.

Botanical Layers 5x7

I decided to make a shaker card for my project today. First I started with the new Botanical Layers. What I love about this set is that if you don't know or have the time to color up flowers you can easily just stamp the layers for a beautifully colored flower. I first started out with the outline layer of the Lily. I embossed it in gold. Can you tell I'm on a gold kick lately?? LOL I then took the base layer of the Lily and used Memento Angel Pink ink. I did use my Misti to line up the layers. I don't really think you have to, but I preferred to. I then took the next layer of the stamp, this is the stamp that gives the details to the flower. I inked that layer up in Memento Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid.
To finish up the flower I took my Copics and added the yellow and green. There are layers for these, but I simply thought it was quicker to use my Copics.

There are several ways to use these layers. There will be a guide in the shop to help you layer the flowers, but you can mix and match them like I did in this project. This guide is a suggestion, so feel free to try new things.
Here's a close up of my shaker. The "Big" is from the new Wishful Thought Word Dies that we sneak peeked yesterday. Also the I heat embossed "HUGS" which is from yesterday Wishful Thought Stamp set. I added some sequins I had laying around to the inside of the shaker. My black scalloped base is from my Fancy Frame Dies.

As you can see in the CDD Design Team projects there are many ways that these flowers can be used and they are all beautiful. I really think Mindy did a wonderful job designing all these stamps.
