Favorite Distress Oxide Inks With DT Susan

Hi,  Susan's here.
It is so hard for me to pick my favorite color combinations of distress oxides as the range is so vivid and wide. Also, I tend to chose colors based on the images I have colored from Craftin Desert Divas. However, I was able to narrow the choice down to Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Squeezed Lemonade as these colors are so cheerful and vibrant.

For my card, I used the dragon from Whimsical Wishes. Here is my card:

I used the ink smooshing technique to achieve the background of the card. I die cut the background with the largest die from Fancy Frames. Below I show you all the supplies I used. For watercolor paper I just used Ranger Watercolor paper and for the acetate for the ink smooshing I used a piece of the acetate from the stamp set packaging. I easily cleaned it up with a baby wipe when I was done.

First, I put down a square of each color and then lightly spritzed it with water. This gave me puddles of ink to work with. I dipped the acetate into the Squeezed Lemonade pool first and then added that to the card stock. I dried my card stock between applications of color to keep the colors from blending too much at first.

I repeated this process with the other two colors. I then added a second and third layer of color to the card stock and spritzed it with Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray. Remember to dry between layers.

Here is my card again:
