Hi,
DT Susan here on the CDD blog. I am here for another tutorial for marbling with alcohol inks. This time using a Gelli Plate because I am not that good with a blender!
I colored the Jawsome image off camera but will list the Copics I used below. Yes I shot this card hanging over the edge of my pool because my Jaws dude is riding a big wave lol!!!
For this project I used my 5x7 Gelli Plate and three shades of alcohol ink: turquoise, stream and bottle and the silver and gold mixatives. I also used a Catalyst Wedge by Princeton to move the inks around the plate and a straw. I used Yupo paper. You can also use Glossy Paper but you cannot use just plain paper of any kind as the inks will bleed right through.
So first I set up my Gelli Plate and added some ink!
Then I moved it around with my Catalyst Wedge or you could use a credit card.
Then I just pressed a piece of Yupo onto the Gelli Plate and gently patted it to get the first print. You can go back and reprint pieces that have dried.
This is the first print that I did and I added to it later on in the process once it was dry.
Copics:
Shark N6, N4, N3, N1, N0
Bathing Suit: BV17 and B32
Crab: R12, R14 and R17
Board: BV17 on the strips, reds above on the fin and BG11, BG13, BG18 with Wink of Stella Clear and Glossy Accents
Here is a closer look one more time.
Thank you for stopping by.
Susan
